Shannon Hair was the speaker at the Post D monthly meeting in South Boston.  Mr. Hair is the executive director of the Danville Community College Educational Foundation.  He spoke about the history of the college and stated that citizens of Halifax County played a big part in the creation and growth of the Foundation, and how it grew to having over fourteen million dollars in assets.  The Foundation raises money to provide funding to strengthen academic programs and encourage cultural activities, as well as providing scholarships to students.  For more information and how to join TPA contact Carlyle Wimbish by phone at (434) 572-6254 or via email at [email protected].
