Rebekah Slabach, Associate Director of the Alliance to Advance Climate-Smart Agriculture, was the speaker at the monthly meeting of South Boston, Virginia Post D. Slabach discussed the $80 million grant Virginia Tech received that will fund a pilot program to encourage producers to implement climate-smart practices on farms. The Alliance is a three-year pilot program being created in Virginia, Arkansas, Minnesota, and North Dakota to test the feasibility of rolling out a similar program on a national scale.
