Virginia TPA Post D in South Boston welcomed Halifax County Historical Society President Barbara Bass to their February 14 meeting. Her presentation, “Crossing of the Dan,” was about the 1781 failure of General Cornwallis and his troops to cross the Dan River in Halifax County This major setback for the British Army, exactly 243 years ago, ultimately led to their defeat at Yorktown.
