Post D of the Virginia Division

Mike Davis, Fuel Manager, NOVEC Energy Production – Halifax County Biomass Plant was the speaker at the monthly meeting of South Boston, Virginia Post D of the Travelers Protective Association. Commissioned in 2013, NOVEC’s Biomass Electric Generating Facility is celebrating 10 years of operation. Davis discussed the operation of the facility and its economic impact on the community. With 27 full-time jobs and an annual payroll exceeding $2.8 million, it pays $695,000 in annual property taxes and approximately $12 million annually to local businesses for wood chips.
