Steven Farrar was the speaker at the Post D monthly meeting in South Boston. Mr. Farrar is an emergency medical technician with the Halifax County Rescue Squad, and he talked about the history of the squad and how it took over the ambulance service from Powell Funeral Home. He discussed the financing of the squad, the cost of putting equipment on the road and the difficulty of getting volunteers.
