What Does TPA Pay?

Many of our members are under the impression that The Travelers Protective Association of America only pays benefits for automobile and travel related accidents. This is not true.

Here are some of the claims recently paid by National Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri:

  Check Mark Fell into water from a boat and drowned - accidental death benefit - $5,000.00 paid to beneficiary.  
  Check Mark Child fell on members knee when his leg was extended - knee strain - paid $111.45.  
  Check Mark At home lowering a window, window fell on member's index finger - bruises and laceration of his finger - paid $60.00.  
  Check Mark While umpiring a ball game - fractured clavicle - paid $251.40.  
  Check Mark Playing golf, slipped on wet grass - strained tendon in foot - paid $100.00.  
  Check Mark On the farm, dog tripped member - fractured leg - paid $551.40.  
  Check Mark Cat bite -laceration of hand - paid $50.00.  
  Check Mark On a boat dock, slipped on the dock - splinters in toes - paid $50.00.  
  Check Mark While ice fishing going down hill, slipped and fell - fractured leg - paid $1,028.55.  
  Check Mark While duck hunting, boat turned over, member thrown into the water and drowned - accidental death - $5,000.00 paid to beneficiary.  
  Check Mark Playing softball running to third base - ruptured patella tendon - paid $875.25.  
  Check Mark Gun discharged accidentally in home - accidental death - $5,000.00 paid to beneficiary.  
  Check Mark Fell, medical complications of cervical spine fracture - $6,200.00 death benefit paid to beneficiary ($5,000.00 death benefit and $1,200.00 hospitalization).  
  Check Mark At home, lifting and moving concrete - herniated L4 disc - paid $1,851.40.  
  Check Mark At member's vacation home repairing roof - fractured shoulder blade and head, collapsed lungs - paid $1,148.55 which included 2 weeks 6 days hospital confinement benefit.
