What Benefits Does TPA Pay?

Many of our members are under the impression that Travelers Protective Association of America only pays benefits for traffic and travel related accidents. This is not true. Here are some of the claims recently paid by National Headquarters in St. Louis:

Gigging frogs fell into the water from a boat-drowned-accidental death benefit paid $5,000.00 to beneficiary.

Child fell on members knee when his leg was extended knee strain-paid $111.45

At home lowering a window, window fell on member's index finger-bruises and laceration of his finger-paid $60.00.

While umpiring a ball game fractured clavicle paid $251.40.

Playing golf-slipped on wet grass-strained tendon in foot paid $100.00.

On the farm-dog tripped member fractured leg-paid $551.40.

Cat bite laceration of hand-paid $50.00.

On a boat dock, slipped on the dock-splinters in toes paid $50.00.

While ice fishing going down hill slipped and fell fractured leg-retired member paid $1,028.55.

While duck hunting-boat turned over-member thrown into the water-drowned-accidental death-$5,000.00 paid to beneficiary.

Playing softball running to third base-ruptured patella tendon-paid $875.25.

Gun discharged accidentally in his home-accidental death benefit paid to beneficiary $5,000.00.

While riding a horse it started bucking-member received massive pelvic trauma, fractured left hip, separation of urethra from the bladder member died as a result of the injury after being kept in the hospital for one week-$5,000.00 death benefit paid to beneficiary.

At home-lifting and moving concrete-herniated L4 disc-paid $1,851.40

At member's vacation home repairing roof-compressed T1O vertebra, fractured shoulder blade and head, collapsed lungs-paid $1,148.55 which included 2 weeks 6 days hospital confinement benefit.
